When searching for “bridesmaid gifts” I found the same shit again and again. Three of the same necklace, or sweatpants, or monogrammed blahblahblah with a cute message attached. But my bridesmaids were different. As in, they are individuals and should be honored as such… How do I find one item, different in style, but the same type of thing? Same but different… same but different…
This, like so many other wedding to-dos was causing more fatigue than I anticipated. As a gift-giver, I don’t like to just “buy something.” I want it to scream from the shelves, “STACEY!!! BUY ME NOW OR MISS OUT FOREVERRRRRRRR!” Otherwise it feels like there isn’t enough connection to who that person truly is.
Again, obsessing over finding something useful that represents each personality, my brain started to overheat. Our wedding date was getting closer by the week and I was running out of time.
I DON’T HAVE TIME TO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER!
No other brand owns the “same but different” concept more than Swatch. I hopped onto Swatch.com and found a watch that matched each bridesmaid’s personality as well as the mother of the bride’s, and the mother of the groom’s taste. (I knew we’d all be getting ready together, and how awkward would that be were I not to say thank you to the two ladies who made this day possible from a biological standpoint? COME ON PEOPLE. Remember what your momma taught you: Always “send” a thank you note!)
There was one final detail inspired by that initial research: A clever message inside each card.
